The
teaching tolerance magazine first came out in January of 1992.
It is a free educational magazine distributed to hundreds of thousandss
of educators semi-annually. And that's just teachers alone. You
as an individual can receive this magazine too. It is full of
ideas to teach tolerance whether it's to your students or to your
children.
In many cases, insecurity among the youth starts in the classroom
and the best way to dissipate it is to address it. And there's
no better way than through the teacher. Teachers educate students
about he past and promote tolerance. And it is not just teachers
in the United States of America, but teachers in 70 countries
around the world as well.
Distributed free twice a year, the magainze provides teachers
with ideas on how to teal tolerance and the history of equity
in the classroom. Many of the ideas in the magazine are developed
by the editors. However, many ideas also come from teachers themselves
and what they have done in their own classroom. Teachers are encouraged
to send both writings and art.
Some of the various resources include America's Civil Rights
Movement, The Shadow of Hate, Starting Small, and A
Place at the table.
