Andrei Sakharov
Andrei Sakharov helped develop the Soviet Union's nuclear capability but became its outspoken opponent and an advocate for democracy and human rights. Despite exile in the early 1980s, Sakharov highlighted Soviet abuses and injustices and was recognized with the Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts. |
