Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn
Solzhenitsyn opposed Communism in his native Soviet Union and spent years in the gulags of that nation due to his beliefs. His books, such as The Gulag Archipelago, offered searing critiques of the Soviet regime. Solzhenitsyn eventually went into exile in the United States. |
