During Her Time

Eleanor Roosevelt

She had a tremendous influence both during her time and through the present. Admired and criticized, she put her time, energy, money, influence, but most importantly, her heart, into her work. She envisioned a utopic society and strove to create it. She worked for equality for all the oppressed of America: the poor, African-Americans, women, workers–just about anybody who needed a helping hand. She has inspired many, even long after her death. Eleanor Roosevelt was truly a woman ahead of her time.

"Of course I know-It's Mrs. Roosevelt."
