Future Plans
Engineers Without Borders and Friends of the Sick and Poor are planning to continue their work in Bbanda. On May 2nd, they are making their third trip to Uganda, where they will meet with the Friends of the Poor and other villagers. They are also going to meet with local contractors to buy materials they will need for a fourth trip in August. During that trip they are planning to build two new boreholes, which will be in the inner city, so more people will have easy access to them. All their work is building towards an ultimate goal: to build a piped distribution system, which would supply water directly to the homes of the villagers. This will most likely involve building tanks that can store large amounts of water, and a pump that can pump clean water up to the tanks. From the tanks, the water will flow by gravity to local tap stands.
