Statistics

There are many horrifying facts about Global Warming, but perhaps the most horrifying is the statical evidence that many people and politicians are refusing to recognize.

As you have previously read, the highest contributor to Global Warming is greenhouse gasses. Over the past decade, the amount of greenhouse gasses have increased drastically, over 50%. For graphs and charts, visit the picture gallery.

As a result of these Greenhouse gasses, there has been an increase in Global temperature. The year 2005 was the hottest year on record according to NASA. This shift as caused more than 400,000 square miles of Arctic Sea ice to melt and it will also cause around 15-37% of plant life to die by the year 2050.

In 2005 alone, we saw some of the strongest hurricanes in the history of the United States. These hurricanes have increased in intensity and duration by 100% since 1970. These hurricanes alone cause more than $100 billion in damage, not including the thousands of lives that had been lost.

Despite the fact that we have many citizens who attempt to stop Global Warming, we are still the #1 contributor as a nation. The next highest nation has less than 1/4 of the pollution output as we do.

And, despite all of these warning signs, there have been zero bills passed by Congress to cut Global Warming pollution.
